Director

Peter Fox commenced with ACE-IRM Insurance Broking Group 1984. In 1989 in company with other Directors of ACE-IRM group bought the Insurance Broking portfolio of Don Stevens Insurance Broking in Townsville which ultimately became ACE-IRM Insurance Broking until its sale to AON in January 1998. He worked for AON Townsville (under contract) until May 1999 and in July 1999 in company with Leo Conlon, established Northern Insurance & Finance Brokers.

Peter has completed studies with the Australian Insurance Institute gaining Affiliate status in 1993. He was President of the Townsville branch of the Institute in 1992-93 and re-elected unopposed in 1993-94,he also served as chairman of the Cairns branch of the Institute from 2003 - 2006. He was granted Q.P.I.B status in 1992 with the National Insurance Brokers Association and served as North Queensland Sub-Committee Chairman 1997-98. He has continued his studies with the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance during 2003-2004 and is currently an Associate of the Institute and a Certified Insurance Professional (C.I.P.). Peter has also owned & operated hotels in Queensland.

Leo Conlon ANZIFF (Snr Assoc), CIP, QPIB

Director

Leo Conlon has a background in finance of over 30 years. Commencing in the CBC Bank in 1969 he worked up to management level before resigning from the National Australia Bank in Cairns during 1985 to purchase a small business.

He then opened the Cairns Branch of the Queensland Industry Development Corporation in 1988. After 7 years he was promoted to Area Manager Far North Queensland looking after branches from Townsville to Mt Isa North.

During this time he completed a diploma of Business Management from Monash University Mt. Eliza Business College.

In 1999 Leo established Northern Insurance & Finance Brokers with Peter Fox. He was granted QPIB status in May 2005 with the National Insurance Brokers Association. He served as Treasurer of the Cairns branch of Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance from 2003-2006 and is currently a Senior Associate of the Institute and a Certified Insurance Professional (C.I.P.).
